Trees, Tools and Training to Replant a Future

GPFA is helping Afghan farmers who are striving to help themselves. These historically self-reliant people urgently need the opportunity to lift their families out of poverty and restore economic and environmental sustainability to their country.

Our community-based programs have provided an ever-growing number of Afghan men and women with the planting supplies, tools and training they need to revitalize and rebuild the vast network of farmer-owned fruit nurseries, orchards, vineyards and woodlots that have long formed the backbone of Afghanistan’s economy. With an established presence in central Afghanistan, we are expanding our operations province by province to help ensure a secure, prosperous and healthy future for farm families throughout the country.

Our Mission / Vision: The Global Partnership for Afghanistan works to help rural Afghans revive and rehabilitate their orchards, vineyards, farms and forests to generate food, jobs, income, environmental and health benefits. GPFA is a people-to-people, capacity-building organization that supports environmental renewal for the public good through restoring farm and community forests and planting new ones in areas of need. Our projects aim for poverty reduction, sustainable employment of women and men, and long term economic development through technical assistance, knowledge transfer, introduction of appropriate technologies, and market development.
