Trees, Tools and Training to Replant a Future

GPFA is helping Afghan farmers who are striving to help themselves. These historically self-reliant people urgently need the opportunity to lift their families out of poverty and restore economic and environmental sustainability to their country.

Our community-based programs have provided an ever-growing number of Afghan men and women with the planting supplies, tools and training they need to revitalize and rebuild the vast network of farmer-owned fruit nurseries, orchards, vineyards and woodlots that have long formed the backbone of Afghanistan’s economy. With an established presence in central Afghanistan, we are expanding our operations province by province to help ensure a secure, prosperous and healthy future for farm families throughout the country.

Our Mission / Vision: Global Partnership for Afghanistan assists rural Afghans alleviate poverty, build sustainable livelihoods and restore their environment. Our capacity-building programs provide men and women with trees, supplies, technical and business training, and other support needed to increase their incomes through farmer-owned micro-enterprises such as orchards, vineyards, and woodlots. GPFA also helps communities revitalize forests, improve water management and reverse the impact of environmental degradation.
