Global Partnership for Afghanistan
Global Partnership for Afghanistan (GPFA) is a fast-growing, dynamic New York nonprofit organization and NGO registered in Afghanistan. Since 2004, it has engaged in community-based development programs working with Afghan farmers to restore their fruit and nut orchards, vineyards, woodlots, and forests and develop profitable forestry and horticulture farm enterprises that will increase incomes, jobs, food supply and provide environmental and health benefits. GPFA has administrative offices in New York City and Kabul with sub-offices in 4 Afghan provinces (expanding this year to 7), with a staff of 2 in New York and soon to be more than 80 in Afghanistan. The Executive Director is based in the Kabul Office.

Position Summary
The Development Director directs and coordinates the solicitation of funds via direct mail, individual donor meetings, grant applications, and special events and oversees public relations. We are looking for an outgoing, self-starter who can partner with our dynamic executive director and staff in growing GPFA's funding base. Working closely with the Executive Director, to whom the position reports, the Development Director is responsible for developing and implementing annual fundraising/marketing plans to meet this organization's 2008 projected expenditures of $1.5 million and anticipated larger budgets in 2009 and beyond.
